The best Asian food in any American city is cooked by people who never advertised. Someone has to point.
Beply (say: bep-lee) is a marketplace for Vietnamese and Asian food worth the order. Every restaurant is vetted by a person. Every menu is written in Vietnamese and English, with real options rather than item numbers. Every fee is shown before you order.
To Vietnamese speakers the first syllable echoes bếp — kitchen. The mark carries the rest: a rice bowl fills the B, a pair of chopsticks stands in for the stem of the p, and a leaf grows from the tail of the y.
What we are for
- Purpose
- So that the small, family-run Asian restaurants with the best food get found by the people who would love them.
- Mission
- Build the marketplace where every restaurant is vetted, every menu is explained, and every fee is shown before you order.
- Promise to customers
- You will order well. No guessing about what a dish is, what it costs, or when it arrives.
- Promise to restaurants
- Customers who arrive already knowing what to order, at a commission that leaves you a business.
Words we do not use
Exotic. Hidden gem. Both frame Vietnamese food as strange, or as a find for outsiders. To the customers whose trust matters most, the restaurant is not hidden — it is where they have eaten for twenty years. We also do not claim authentic. We say what a dish is, where it is from, and who cooks it, and let you decide.
Where we are
San Jose, California, with 8 restaurants across Little Saigon, Story Road, Berryessa, Downtown and Alum Rock. We are deliberately small: one city, one delivery area, and enough attention to get every order right.
